Complementary technologies

No technique answers everything. The choice starts with the critical variable and the process matrix.

Bioreactor in Raman monitoring context
HORIBAProcess Raman
Inline probe / single-use
Real-time molecular signature

01 · MOLECULAR SIGNATURE

Follow the chemistry of culture in real time.

Chemometric models transform Raman spectra into estimates of metabolites and process attributes. The literature is strong in CHO culture, fermentation, perfusion and upstream.

  • Glucose, lactate and amino acids
  • Biomass and cellular concentration
  • Calibration transfer and models
  • Power control and consistency

Technical Note: the articles support the application Raman; the HORIBA configuration must be defined and validated for each process. The inline system announced with Fujifilm is in co-development.

GAM 2000 BioR · continuous off-gas analysis

02 · OFF-GAS MS

It converts the gas phase into metabolic information.

The GAM 2000 Bio R measures gases online in fermenters and bioreactors. With appropriate flows and corrections, the signs support respiratory calculations and reading of metabolic transitions.

  • O2, CO2 and additional gases
  • OUR, CER e RQ
  • VOCs and volatile by-products
  • Multiplexation of bioreactors
